Overview:
Each product within the opportunity can have a dedicated Sales Invoice Plan, detailing the number of invoices to be generated. To create a Sales Invoice Plan, first, locate the desired opportunity and navigate to the Product-related list. Select the relevant product to edit, find the “Create Sales Invoice Plan” field, and save your changes. This action will generate Sales Invoice Plans for all products, regardless of prior associations. You can then review these plans within the Sales Invoice Plan related list on the Opportunity record. Additionally, if you need to remove a Sales Invoice Plan, simply access the opportunity, edit the product, deselect the “Create Sales Invoice Plan” option, and save, which will delete the associated plan from the system. This streamlined process helps manage recurring billing effectively within Salesforce.
How to Create a Sales Invoice Plan on an Opportunity
Sales Invoice Plan Templates are associated to Products on a Salesforce Opportunity that require repeat Sales Invoices generated in the system. Each product will have a Sales Invoice Plan created and linked to it, for the number of Sales Invoices to be generated for that product line.
This article should describe how to create a Sales Invoice Plan Template from the Opportunity. Ensure you have already added a product to your opportunity. To create a Sales Invoice Plan, follow these steps:
- Find the Opportunity you wish to work with.
- When viewing the Opportunity go to the Product related list
- Select Edit or click the Opportunity Product Name and then select edit.
- Find and select the Create Sales Invoice Plan field
- Select Save (all products, with or without a Sales Invoice Plan Templates associated to them will be added to a Sales Invoice Plan)
- When viewing the Opportunity, scroll to the related list Sales Invoice Plan
Review and confirm you are satisfied with each Sales Invoice Plan.
How to Remove a Sales Invoice Plan on an Opportunity
If for any reason you wish to remove the Sales Invoice Plan associated with a product, follow these steps:
- Find the Opportunity you wish to work with.
- When viewing the Opportunity go to the Product related list
- Select Edit or click the Opportunity Product Name and then select edit.
- Find and de select the Create Sales Invoice Plan field
- Select Save (the Sales Invoice Plan associated to this product will be deleted from the system)
